At the age of 14, Grog founded a high school rock band called: Landslide. By the age of 15, he was playing in bars and performing at kegger party's for the Hells Angels. As a longhaired rocker during the 1980's, he played in Wizard, a Bay Area based rock band that headlined clubs such as The Old Waldorf, the Stone, The Keystone Palo Alto and Berkeley, and traveled to LA to play The Troubador and FM Station; they also headlined KOME and KRQR Metal Mondays, performed at The Jerry Lewis Telethon, and were the first rock band to perform at San Quentin Prison. Opening for bands such as Joe Perry from Aerosmith, Dokken, WASP, and Girl School, Grog simultaneously attended UC Berkeley and co-wrote/co-produced two albums. Grog came back to the Bay Area music scene when he hooked up with local rocker Johnny Diamond. The two became the dueling guitar extravaganza of Point Blank, and by a stroke of cosmic fate, reunited with former Wizard members Yoda and Gerry "Madman" Johnston to bring you the awesome jams of Bad Daddy and The Dirty Dogs. Grog plays Fender Grogocaster and Stratocaster guitars and his dog's name is Gigiboo! (Who likes to bite John!)
