Roosevelt Twitty was born in Paris, Texas on November 24, 1938 , he has been playing music professionally for over fifty years, beginning at a very young age. He is strictly "Delta Blues" personified, his unique guitar licks whether playing lead or second lead is something to hear and see. He has a voice that you can hear a little of most blues singers consolidated. He doesn't stand to perform any longer due to many ailments, that does not interfere with his electrifying performances. Twitty is a composer and writer he wrote Born In Texas and rewrote the oher songs. Twitty, has a vast following of blues fan all over Texas as well as other states. He was in the ROTC at Prairie View College, Houston, Texas for two years. Most Recently, Twitty received a life time membership in the Paris Blues Society, making him the first recipient and the first black person ever to receive this award, Making History all around......News Flash, there will be a documentary on Roosevelt Twitty released some time this year.
