America's "Hillbilly Rasta"
====================

CHUCK FOSTER (KPFK's "Reggae Central") says in the new issue of THE BEAT MAGAZINE:
"Reggae tunes add international flavor to a . . varied rock sound!"

GILLI MOON (multitalented artist/author/founder of Songsalive!):
"An emotional yet powerful artist . . touched my heart immediately!"

REGGAE-REVIEWS.COM: "Turchin has a buoyant, inviting pop reggae sound -- with a Southern twang!"

LARRY WINES (KCSN, FolkWorks): "He's the only Americana-Roots-Rastafarian I know!"

===

Hey Y'all! Greetings I-and-I nation! Much love and respect.
===
Crazy, musically schizophrenic SCOTT TURCHIN began this life in a small Southern town, wandered throughout the rural South and for no good reason hopped a banana boat for Jamaica, where life turned into one great song after another.

All day, all night, Marianne. Or so it would seem.

Born to hardworking, intense New York City parents who brought him to California in the wild hippie 60s, Scott grew up on a steady diet of folk, rock and world music. He wanted to be a great folksinger like James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen, so he started to played them on stage like they were his own, in many duos and bands, and later, inspired by Sting, Seal and Don Henley, he started to write.

Eventually, he began a relationship with the Guiding Spirit of Reggae music and the Rasta way and started to write music clearly inspired by the body of music from Marley, Tosh and Cliff to UB40.

Often compared to a wide range of artists, including Dave Matthews, John Hiatt, Johnny Clegg, Van Morrison, Steve Earle, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Tom Petty and Ben Harper, his SCOTT TURCHIN BAND plays throughout the Los Angeles area.

SCOTT's music has won recognition from local and national songwriter organizations, first album "SCOTT TURCHIN" earned "Editor's Choice" in both Roots Rock and Reggae from distributor CDBABY, and 2nd album RIVER CAN CRY has been racking up the awards on peer review site GarageBand.com! Former Director of the Westside Song Circle, Scott is also an actor in TV, film, voiceovers and stage.

HI EVERYBODY! HANGING IN THRU TOUGH TIMES FOR ALL SO BETTER TIMES INDEED MAY SOON SOON COME!

* I have uploaded for your listening pleasure a VOCAL IMPROVISATION I created with 3 other people on the spot a few years ago, and led by me we created MANI SEH, an African/Reggae-inspired exploration of our "instant village" life in song! It's only streaming right now because I'm unclear about the rights and it was a raw recording.

* In other news, my new albums SCOTTY'S REGGAE RUNNINGS, DUSTY ROSE COUNTRY-AMERICANA, and SCOTTY'S MOODY ALT-ROCK are all going to be released for worldwide digi distribution thru my distributor CDBABY. Stay tuned! Most are available NOW for download at CDBABY.com!

HEY Y'ALL!!! WHAT UP? GOT A couple of songs from my recent past - one now here on Jamwave ONLY!
ANGEL JACQUELINE (REGGAE):

IMAGINE, IF U WILL, MY "ANGEL JACQUELINE" (originally a Southern folky rock tune) DONE IN JAMAICA or Trinidad - the guys I was working with at the time wanted to hear it as a reggae tune, so I got a chance to combine my Southern influences and Jamaican leanings - hope u enjoy.

SONGMON-UNCLE BOB REGGAE JAM:
This was a private collaboration with London's famous SCOTT HILL, who graciously supplied the music track as a base for me to supply the vocals. THIS WAS THE FIRST TAKE and not an official release so I can't let ya d/l it, just check out the vamping! Respect.

Pretty cool - a cover of a favorite old John Prine tune, then two new Reggae songs I'm working on. I welcome your feedback. thanks and may all your times be Irie!! scott.

Hey y'all - please check out the NEW SINGLE I'm working on - ANGEL JACQUELINE. Some people say it sounds like Matchbox 20 meets Hootie and the Blowfish and Van Morrison!  ANY COMMENTS are appreciated! thanks.
