Hey there, my name is Rachel Eileen Robinson and I'm a singer/songwriter living in Ontario Canada. Here's how I came to be a musician. My childhood was tons of fun! Growing up my parents surrounded my four brothers and sisters and I with music. My younger years were spent in Ireland (my family is Irish) and later Ontario, but no matter where we were music could be heard throughout our house! My Dad played a mean guitar, accordion and harmonica and was always singing, especially Irish folk songs. He played professionally in Ireland and later Canada before becoming a professor and raising all of his kids with my Mum. My Mum (Mabel) also loved music and played piano very well. As a child I would often sit with her at the piano watching her play and listening to her beautiful voice. All the children in my family studied piano, among other instruments like the flute, banjo and mandolin but later like my father I took to the guitar. After receiving a guitar for one of my birthdays from an old boyfriend I began writing and singing my own songs. This pleased my dad to no end and he was always the first person I showed a new song to. A few years ago my Dad (being my biggest fan) replaced the guitar my old boyfriend bought me (because it was just a starter guitar) and got me a beautiful Larrivee. The sound is incredible! He also paid for the recording of the three songs I have posted on here. I am now a full-time musician and I'm looking forward to recording my cd in the near future. Drop me a line and say hi sometime........................ .............................................................................................................................................................................................................................. This page is dedicated in memory of my DAD. Forever in my heart! The best Dad a kid could ever imagine! A dedicated husband with undying love for my mother suffering from Alzheimers for ten years now. After she was admitted into a nursing home seven years ago he showed all of his friends and family what the vows "through sickness and in health" really meant. My Dad went every single day to visit her from the moment she went into the home, often spending more than seven hours a day reading to her, strolling her around, feeding her and not leaving her side until she was asleep for the night. He was an incredible role model. I am blessed to have had him as my Dad. I miss him terribly, more than any words could ever express! He was a beautiful heart who made the world so much better while in it and left a permanent mark on all those he loved. My biggest source of comfort, my Dad... Thomas H. Robinson sadly passed away on December 29th 2007 after suffering a stroke on December 28th. Life will never be the same...love you soooo much DAD xoxo Rachelxoxo February 10th 2007 |
