PiVVO, (Pierre Verger Vanguard Orchestra), is a Carioca band (Carioca is the name given to those born in Rio de Janeiro). Formed in 2003 in the Lapa quarter of Rio De Janeiro, they mix elements of Nu-music with Bossa Nova and Samba. The sound of Pivvo is formed by using the three basic elements of the Samba: acoustic guitar, voice and percussion. The effects of guitar and vocals creates a contemporary and melancholic atmosphere, which when combined with Pivvo's mixture of textures, results in what has been called pós-bossa nova - with songs which reflect the daily life of Carioca and the Brasilian soul. PiVVO acts in the field of the visual arts through photograph and of street-art, having as aesthetic parameter the technique of snapshot in the photograph and the vehicles of stencil and sticks in street-art. They are part of Pivvo: Marcus de Carvalho - vocal, acoustic guitar, photograph / Rodrigo DaSilva - acoustic guitar, vocal, photograph, sticks, posters, stencil // Cristiano Duge - percussion / Fyl Barcelos - percussion / Thiago Hagge - Designer, photograph, stencil |
