Not There brings a fresh mix of melodic, guitar driven music to the world of alternative rock. Their first release is the EP "Dark of the Noon," produced by the band's multi-instrumentalist Ric Gordon. The songs range from a power pop ballad on the single "Never Wanted You" tostraight forward rock on "I Need Your Love" to a hard edged heavy sound on "Fight for You" and "Hidden." The band is currently working on their second release, an album titled "Skateboarding is Not a Crime." The album is expected to be released in late 2009 on Russian Winter Records.
Not There is:
Taylor Mack - Vox
Ric Gordon - Guitar, Keyboards, Vox
Jo Garcia - Vox, Keyboards
Victoria Rau - Bass Guitar
Corissa Mead - Strings
Special Guests on the Dark of the Noon EP:
Lahsen - Vocal Cameo on Never Wanted You
Michael Krueger - Drums
Ric Gordon has been a recording artist and producer for over a decade. Before joining Not There, Ric released a solo album titled Just Can't Get Enough. He has produced over a dozen singles and albums for other artists and is currently producing albums for the indie rock band My New TV Set and the punk group Filth.
Jo Garcia brings a driving vocal style to the band, along with her fluid keyboard phrasing. Jo is a talented songwriter who explores deep feelings in her music. Her songs In Memory of Sobriety and Casket show both her vocal range and the emotional depth of her lyrics.
Taylor Mack has been singing all her life and honed her vocal chops by recording 3 singles prior to joining Not There. She is a prolific writer and her lyrics can be heard on the song Hidden. Taylor is also a regular on the Kansas City TV show My Teen TV, which airs every Sunday at 1:30 pm on KSMO-TV.
Victoria Rau is the newest member of the band, bringing her fluid and progressive bass guitar style. Victoria has been a lifelong musician and in addition to the bass, plays viola and guitar. Victoria has always loved the sound of the bass lower register, and it feels natural for her to hold down the anchor for the band.
Corissa Mead has been a devoted violist for fifteen years and is also experienced on the violin. She is new to the rockstar lifestyle and is thoroughly enjoying herself. When not on stage you can find her playing in the Lee’s Summit Symphony.

Hi All:
We have a new song up titled In Memory of Sobriety. This is another of the songs that will appear on our upcoming album, Skateboarding Is Not A Crime. Sobriety is a powerful song with lyrics by Jo and music by Ric. Jo gives a stellar performance on lead vocals and we hope the passion she imparts to the lyrics will grab hold of you. We reallly think this is one of our best works yet.
Work on the album is coming along well. We still are expecting a release in early 2010. Besides our album Ric is also producing the indie band My New TV Set for our label. Their debut EP is being mixing and is scheduled for release on December 21st.

| | Hi all:
We are hard at work on our next album for Ruissian Winter Records, Skateboarding Is Not A Crime. No release date yet, but we hope to have it finished before the end of the year. We have uploaded an advance track from the album, The Love We Share, featuring our newest member Jo Garcia on lead vocals. Jo will be sharing lead vocals with Taylor Mack and playing piano in the band.
Traffic on our MySpace page continue to grow. We now have almost 300,000 views and have over 8700 friends. Please visit our page at http://www.myspace.com/notthereindie. Please become our MySpace friend and tell your friends about our site.
I am currently producing albums for two other bands for the label. My New TV Set is a great alternative indie band that is in the genre of the Decemberists, with overtones of Death Cab For Cutie and the Weakerthans. It is led by singer/songwriter Dustin McKamie. Look for their album by the end of the year. Filth is a punk bad cut from the mold of the Circle Jerks or Black Flag. We are doing some interesting things with the song selection for Filth's debut album and it should really surprise people. Look for their album in early spring 2010.
Cheers,
