From Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Diafanes seek a departure from common pop/rock, exploring original tonalities and timbers. In some compositions, the band has Arab, Flamenco, Brazilian and Japanese elements, which reinforce their character using instruments such as snujs (finger cymbals), castanets, derbake (Arab percussion), koto (Japanese harp), cuíca (Brazilian drum), among others.
In early 2004, the band started production of their first album "See Through", which was recorded at Nimbus Studios in Sao Paulo. The result was 13 tracks of experimentalism already shown in their live shows, just better enhanced by the excellent production of the studio. At the same time, the band produced their first video "Love In", which aired on MTV Brazil in November 2004 and received an honorable mention in 2006 at the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival in Alabama.
"See Through" was released in the United States Sept. 17th, 2005 by Digitone Records and the singles "Love In" and "Inside Me" were distributed to national, and web radio stations for airplay.
In 2006 the band recorded 2 new singles that will be released in May 2007 with the second album of the band, entitled "Obviously Clear", and the video for "Unity".
