"In a world where music has been created in so many different genres, Jazz and the Blues have withstood the test of time. One of the problems that have existed all along with Jazz, is its constant connection to the forties and fifties roots Jazz, as being the only acceptable Jazz by die hard Artists and fans. Although other forms of music have evolved to modern times, it seems that Jazz from its roots era, is being deemed the only true and acceptable form of art, Where as the Blues has pretty much remained the same fusing with Rock. With the fusion of Rock and Jazz in the late sixties, have come many modern styled Jazz groups, respectfully, such as FattBurger with Steve Laury, Spyro Gyra, John Mclaughlin, George Benson, Larry Carlton, Steely Dan and Santana whom have created, as the old Jazz die hards would call it, watered down or pseudo Jazz! Just as fifties roots Rock music has evolved to various modern Rock styles that fused also with Country and the Blues and have been accepted, so should Jazz in its many forms. After all, this is what ads variety to our musical lives. Can you imagine being constantly subjected to fifties Rock and old Blues music in our modern times? Of course, some music never dies, such as the Blues, simply because people can really relate to this music. Although modern styled Jazz and the Blues have a following with an older crowd, it still can offer the younger crowd a great musical experience that can be very beneficial and entertaining to them. Young Artists can increase their artistic abilities, putting them on a higher plateau of musicianship. There are already many young Jazz and Blues Artists today, whom are experiencing that higher plateau. Jazz and Blues are and can be very entertaining to the young, if they will give them a listen. JM Cruizs music is just such, an eclectic blend of Rock, Jazz and Blues.. Rock, Smooth, Upbeat, Melodic, Easy listening Blues music thats entertaining. JM has been involved with Rock, Jazz and Blues since its beginning. JMs creativeness in these forms of art, are well exemplified in his music"
