It all started with the self taught musician Jeff Washer a New Bedford MA, resident and 20 year guitar veteran. In the year 2000 Jeff invested in a 4 track digital recorder, a Zoom drum machine, a Peavey guitar and started writing the music for songs. Jeff spent two years reviewing hundreds of vocalists throughout the country, looking for the right vocalist to complete his music. In 2002 found Jeff Vangel a songwriter, vocalist, and guitar player from Somerville MA. Jeff was the first member to start collaborating with Jeff Washer. Jeff vangel was previously involved as a lead vocalist with a band called Bean Town located in Orlando Florida. For two years Bean Town performed through out the Florida region at venues such as The House Of Blues and placed runner up for best vocals in the Songwriters Showcase Of America for 2001.
Alyssa Yeager a young female vocalist/songwriter from upstate New York living in Watertown MA, decided to get involved with the project on several rock ballads. Alyssa is also a music therapist for disabled children. Alyssa has also been involved in an acapella group and is known for her graceful harmonies and sensual voice. She has since moved to Ohio for occupational opportunities. Both Jeff Vangel and Alyssa Yeager were the two keys to open up Agatha’s Memory. A third vocalist was added to Agatha’s Memory Julie Viscardi another resident of Somerville MA. Julie has been involved in numerous projects including management of bands to teaching music.
Four drummers were used through out the album. The first of which was Leon Monty a resident of West Wareham MA. Enough can’t be said about Leon and his abilities as a pro blues drummer, songwriter, and music producer. In addition Leon is a well-respected drum teacher and has numerous credits in many albums. The second drummer brought in is Arthur Sousa of New Bedford MA. Art has been playing drums for many years and has been involved in many projects around the country. The third drummer brought in was Dom Mariano a resident of Cambridge MA, who is a songwriter, singer, guitar player, and producer of his band. Dom was able to find time to be involved in the Agatha’s Memory project as well. Peter Himmer the fourth drummer brought simplicity in his drums to the project.
Betty Widerski a pro-violinist and resident of Malden MA, brought her 5 string electric violin to Agatha’s Memory for the song “Tempted”. Betty is involved in a band called The Gobshites. Dan Silvia the recording engineer and owner of Hillgrove Studio’s of west Roxbury MA was hired for recoding sessions. Dan also plays acoustic guitar in the song “Simple Things”, a folk rock song written by Alyssa Yeager and Jeff Washer.
This compilation of different artists enabled Jeff Washer to create a variety of sounds based on different personalities of artists throughout the Boston region. Produced by Jeff Washer and co-produced by Jeff Vangel to create Agatha’s Memory and The Gift To Believe.
